Top 10 Motivational Quotes

With the New Year approaching, fitness becomes a major priority to so many!  I have one question for you?  What are you going to do different this year than last year?  Did your plan fail you?  Did you set goals to only find yourself losing focus?  It’s okay because so many fail each and every year!  Remember fitness and improving your long term health is an open goal!  Your fitness voyage should last for a lifetime of pleasurable experiences!!

My prior post “where are you going to live when you wear your body out” sparked a lot of comments and interest.  I am a firm believer that what we are currently doing to our bodies, the side effects will show in 5 to 10 years.  If you are abusing your body with unhealthy habits, the side effects will eventually show.  This could be an increase in blood pressure, cholesterol, joint conditions, diabetes, cancer, heart disease, or even premature aging of the skin.  Why is time and money not an issue when our health fails?  On the flip side, people should be spending more time on preventative measures!

Personally, 22 months ago I was placed in a situation where my health did fail me.  When I ruptured 7 quadricep tendons,  and was placed in a wheel chair for 16 weeks and in ortho trauma for 2 weeks,  I did every possible measure to reverse that condition.  When reality hit me in the face that it was totally up to me on my recovery, I worked my butt off to make my recovery quicker. I watched the clock waiting for my PT and OT appointments.  I would count the hours until my next therapist would come.  I became obsessed to get better at all costs!   At the age of 31, I was a major burden on my young family.  I became another infant in the house that was totally helpless.  To see what my family and especially my wife had to sacrifice to help me was a major reality check.  Imagine if I was 20-30 years older.  My recovery would have been doubled.  I am blessed to have good strength and a good work ethic, but imagine if I didn’t?  I see the same scenario happen to people once their health fails them.  The reality sets in and we realize that we are not bullet proof, but yet very vulnerable.  I commonly hear people say ” I do not have time to eat healthy or I do not have time to exercise.  This is selfish thinking.  Remember somebody someday will have to take care of us, and trust me,  you do not want to be a burden on somebody.  If you would only take the preventative measures to take care of yourself now!  Honor your body!  You owe it to yourself and your loved ones!

You are your maker!  We build ourselves from the ground up, one day at a time, one decision at a time, one meal at a time, one workout a day.  Each moment we create ourselves.  Your life mission is to “honor your body..your temple”!
