Fear… yes can be the #1 factor in preventing people from reaching their dreams!! Think of every successful person in business that you know and I bet they have failed several times. What if they allowed fear to get in the way of their dream of success? They would probably still be in the same boat wondering what if? Now as you know Donald J. Trump did fail in business going bankrupt. Did that slow him down..hect no he turned the negative into a major positive!

I love stories of past experiences because it allows me to relate complicated information in a simple way. A very special client reminded me of our first initial training session. Now this client was leaving another trainer and was looking for a fresh change or a new approach to her fitness goals. She asked me a very good question on what do you have to offer than what any other trainer has done for me? I thought wow what a great question! My answer was this “ I can give you a new outlook, accountability, and if you are willing to work I will never give up on you!” Now 4 years later we are still together and yes there has been bumps in the road and little set backs but remember fitness is for your life..not just 30 days or 12 weeks!

Now most people never reach their true potential because of fear. It is human nature to constantly protect or emotions and we never want to be vulnerable to failure. This same client always had one foot back just in case she failed. She was afraid to open up 100% in fear of failure and allowing herself to fail over and over again. When we built the trust factor that I would never give up on here she put both feet straight ahead and has been successful every since! Dropping a whopping 60#!!!
So here is my question..what are your fears? Are you fearful of the unknown? Are you scared to commit 100% because you have failed many times only coming up short of reaching your goals? Remember your subconscious mind does not know the difference between a thought and reality! Do not let your past experiences determine your future. The past is the past and we can never change that. Forget your failures and move on!!
So here are a 5 tips to help you face fear and pave the road to success!!!
1. Practice daily positive thoughts. Yes this sounds corky but I truely believe in this. I never want to be the pessimist only the optimist. When I have a negative thought of fear come in my mind I immediately replace it with a positive thought. I change the phrase immediately! We can dwell on the negatives but is this healthy thinking?
2. Practice the 21 day rule. Our body is a creature of habit. If we routinely do a new habit or action consistantly for 21 days your chance of adapting this habit is super high. Very important for new exercisers or for people who are needing a new change in fitness!
3. Are you the 10th person? I have mentioned this before but surround yourself with positive successful people. You will be at least 50% of your crowd. Do not hang around with people who blame their faults on other people. We all know these people..it is never their fault for their short comings!
4. Think positively at bedtime. Very important…if we think positively at bedtime I guarantee you will wake up feeling inspired. Before falling asleep try to organize in your mind all of the positive things that you did that day and what will be different tomorrow. Develop a mental list! Write these positive actions down at bedtime. Tiger Woods and all successful people have mini lists.
5. Visualize. Yes our eyes can play tricks on our minds. Visualize your dreams. Visualize your new body in 30, 60 or 90 days? Visualize that new energy and visualize the way that new body will radiate new energy. Remember success is contagious!!
Please practice these 5 tips daily. I can guarantee success! It all starts with battling our fears!
A goal that is not written down is just a dream!

When I was wheel chair bound, one of the first lessons my Physical Therapists gave me in how to walk again was, how to Stand up after I fell down. Excellent article, thank you.
