Time Management:

How we spend our time is very important.  Everybody has the same 24 hours each day.  One common obstacle that most people encounter is lack of time.  Common excuses I ofter hear are “I am a full time student,” or “I have young children with a ton of activities and I just do not have time to exercise!”  Dawn Klement has amazingly transformed her body by dropping over 20# of bodyweight and over 18# of body fat since April 30th!  Dawn has dropped from a size 14 to a size 6 by changing her nutrition and managing her busy lifestyle!  Congratulations to Dawn on her fitness achievements!

Busy Mom Makes Incredible Changes!
It is extremely easy to find an excuse not to do something.  Being a mother of  four
children from age 10 to 1, and working full time have allowed me to use every excuse in
the book and not put my self and my health first.   I can’t say that I have never worked
out before but I can honestly say that I have never been out of my comfort zone with my
exercise and diet.  When a friend of mine mentioned Steve’s bootcamp and how it was
pushing her to go the next level I decided that together with a couple of other
coworkers and friends we would start off with ‘no more excuses’.

What Steve and N-10sive bootcamp have done for me is pushed me to the next level.   I
can honestly say that when I leave a bootcamp I can tell myself that I pushed 110%,
sometimes more with Steve pushing me to go a little harder, a little faster, work till
failure!

At the beginning of April my family and I made dinner in a flash, went out for dinner 2
sometimes 3 times a week whether it was take out or going down the local bar for some
greasy bar food.   Sure I worked out, maybe a 3 mile run and some situps.  That was
working out hard back then.   When I decided to jump in and put my health first things
had to change not only when I went to bootcamp but when I was home as well.   To make
the transformation I have I get up before my family is up and usually return as they are
getting out of bed.   As soon as I get off work instead of spending an hour winding down
before I pick my girls up from daycare I go for a run and then pick them up. Time
management is huge with the diet portion of the transformation; it means preparing meals
the day before or sometimes on Sundays so there are no excuses.  This means extra trips
to the grocery store for fresh vegetables and fruit.   When the kids want something that
I know will come back to bite me it means making an egg white omlete for myself…  it
means my kids are reminding me to stick to my diet,  it means my family is exercising
more, it means that we have changed our lives and made sacrifices so that not only I am
healthier but my family is as well.  Sure I get the just one piece isn’t going to kill
you… etc etc…  but I know that my family is on board and I am seeing success so I
will not turn back.

I believe that there are many keys to success.   Through out this transformation I have
had Steve to help push me and keep me on track.  I have also had my coworkers and
friends that help give me a gentle push to stay ‘out of my comfort zone with my diet and
exercise’.  Instead of going out for dinner and a drink we meet to exercise; instead of
going out for lunch at work we pack our lunches and discuss healthy recipees and food
choices we haven’t discovered on our own yet.   Sure sometimes I ask myself why and tell
my self I am just going to take one day off.  Then I think about not wanting to let
myself down and how I would feel letting Steve and my frineds know that I just decided
not to….   that would kill me.   I stay motivated watching other people transform
their lives and looking at how their lives, self esteem and physique change.   I stay
motivated by never wanting to have to put on ‘my fat pants again’. Unless for a picture
to show the transformation.  I stay motivated by others telling me I have inspired
them… I do not want to let them down. I stay motivated for my family.  I stay
motivated through Steve and his program monitoring my progress, pushing me a little
harder, answering my questions and making sure that I have the tools to be who I want to
be and not who it is easy to be.

Getting Started On A Fitness Program
Getting started is the hardest part of a fitness program.  I highly recommend the 21 day rule when approaching your fitness program.  It is very important to stay consistant when creating a new habit for at least 21 days.  Studies show it takes 21 days in order for our brain to create new habits.  Here are 5 tips to get started.

  1. Use a fitness or nutrition journal:  All successful fitness and nutrition programs recommend using a journal to track progress.  The journal is like your navigation system.
  2. Write your goals down:  A goal that is not written down is just a dream. Set daily, monthly and yearly fitness goals!
  3. Tell co workers, friends or family:  Fitness success requires a team for accountability.
  4. Strive for progress:  I recommend we strive for progress and not perfection.  Remember every day is a new day! Every day you are working on becoming healthier with good habits.
  5. Seek the help of fitness professional:  If you are an experienced exerciser a fresh approach can help break pleateaus.  If you are new to fitness it is very important to start on the right track to success!
